A program of songs by non-Italian composers setting Italian texts (Metastasio set by Schubert, Rosetti set by Ives), Italian composers setting non-Italian texts (Busoni setting Goethe, Rossini setting Pacini), and other pieces related somehow to Italy (Venetian songs of Schumann and Fauré, a cycle by the American italophile composer Derek Bermel, and Cathy Berberian's Stripsody).
